Susan McWatt FitzGerald, a senior designer at Circle, has designed an engaging identity, stationery, and collateral materials for Winnipeg-based fashion designer Julie Pedersen. The core identity employs an evocative monogram, a distinctive logotype, a muted palette of tones and textures, and innovative reproduction techniques (including silkscreen on translucent vellum and machine-sewn joinery). Garments shown are designed by Julie with fashion photography by Ian McCausland.

The two women initially met on the Winnipeg set of the Brad Pitt movie “The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford“ (slated for release in October 2007), while Susan was an extra and Julie was working on wardrobe. A common interest in design was the beginning of an ongoing friendship between the two.
