Celebrating Canadian music icons…
After the market success of the Canadian Recording Artists stamp series designed two years ago, Circle was asked to give a repeat performance by designing an additional series. The recent stamp issue honours Acadian chanteuse Édith Butler, renowned folklorist Stompin’ Tom (Connors), international rock superstar Bryan Adams, and French-Canadian rock pioneer Robert Charlebois. Each artist is featured on a separate booklet cover with envelope seals and background information. The gummed souvenir sheet—available on its own or adhered to the Official First Day Cover—is popular with collectors and philatelists and features two custom-designed cancellations. Each of the four postcards includes an additional performance image of the featured artist. Read more about this stamp design project here.
